OLD FORGE- The Town of Webb Police has announced the department is adding two military grade e-bikes to its force.
Thanks to full grant funding provided in conjunction with the Mohawk Valley Prevention and Recovery Collaborative (a program of Catholic Charities of Herkimer County), this new technology will once again allow Town of Webb Police to have a bike patrol – providing access on the several trail systems and other remote areas where patrol cruisers cannot reach.
Webb Police had a bike patrol years ago, but the bikes eventually became outdated and proved no longer effective, says Chief of Police Ron Johnston.
However with these new e-bikes, Chief Johnston iterates that officers will be able to patrol several more events and access other service calls quickly.
