OLD FORGE- A man from Oneida County is accused of driving with a revoked privilege this week in the Western Adirondacks, authorities say.
Matthew E. Ellis, 38, of Bridgewater, NY was arrested by the Town of Webb Police shortly after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. He is officially charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second-degree, unlicensed operation, failing to stop at a stop-sign and operating without insurance, says Chief of Police Ron Johnston.
Officers say patrols witnessed a vehicle failing to stop at the intersection of Gilbert Street and Park Avenue.
The alleged driver, Mr. Ellis, was reportedly driving while his privilege was revoked. He was also operating without insurance, police said.
Furthermore, a passenger in the vehicle, identified by police as Melissa Hoage, was found to have an active bench warrant for reportedly failing to appear for a traffic offense.
Members from Inlet Police and Shufelt’s Towing provided assistance.
