Troopers charge Lowville resident for acting in manner injurious to a child

LOWVILLE- Misdemeanor charges have been filed against a North Country resident following an incident in Lewis County, where a child was reportedly left alone.

Breann M. Stoughtenger, 39, of Lowville, NY was arrested during the early hours on Thursday for one misdemeanor count each of acting in a manner injurious to a child (less than the age of 17).

Troopers say the arrest was made following a complaint shortly before 12:30 midnight in the town of Lowville.

An investigation is pending, according to what police said at press time. Meanwhile, Stoughtenger was issued with an appearance ticket.

There were no further details provided.
