TROOPERS: Class A felony predatory sex assault against a child charge filed against North Country resident

CARTHAGE- A North Country resident is faced with a ‘class A’ felony charge, stemming from a sex offense case in Jefferson County.

Donald L. Childers, 50, of Carthage, NY was arrested Monday evening by the New York State Police. Childers is formally charged with one felony count of predatory sex assault against a child (under 13).

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from complaints filed Monday afternoon in the village of Carthage, NY.

At press time, police said an investigation is pending and Childers’ arrest status was listed as cash bail (no amount listed and/or specified).
