Troopers: Man from Southern Lewis County accused of operating while impaired by drugs

MARTINSBURG- A North Country resident is accused of driving while impaired in Lewis County, authorities say.

Robert S. Matuszczak, 59, of Port Leyden, NY was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the New York State Police (Lowville). Matuszczak is officially charged with one misdemeanor count of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs in the first-degree.

According to Troopers, the arrest stems from a traffic stop that afternoon in the town of Martinsburg.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending. Matuszczak was issued with an appearance ticket.
