Turin shed destroyed in Wednesday night blaze

TURIN- A shed burned down Wednesday night in Southern Lewis County.

No one was hurt and authorities say the initial calls came in shortly before 10:30 p.m. Turin Fire Department was the primary responder. According to Lewis County’s Office of Emergency Management, the calls came in from 4217 West Road.

Homeowners Greg and Jen Meyers told dispatchers that their shed and boiler was on fire, with other buildings close by.

Thanks to a quick response from area emergency services, the flames were contained and doused. With that being said, officials confirmed the shed to be a total loss.

Mutual aid was received from Constableville, Lyons Falls and Martinsburg Fire Departments.

No cause was mentioned and there was no investigation pending at press time.

Turin Ambulance, Turin Town Highway, the Sheriff’s Office and National Grid all assisted on scene.
