Two faced with various felony and misdemeanor charges following arrest in Oneida County

ROME- Two subjects are faced with numerous charges following an arrest in Oneida County, including felonies.

Brian Joseph Smaldon, 20, of Poland, NY and Tia Zaccaria, 35, of West Winfield, NY were both arrested during the early hours Friday by the New York State Police (Sylvan Beach).

Both Smaldon and Zaccaria are charged with one felony count each of criminally possessing a firearm; criminally possessing a weapon in the second and third-degrees, along with one misdemeanor count of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

In addition, Smaldon was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.

According to Troopers, these charges were all filed early Friday in the city of Rome, NY.

At press time, the arrest statuses for Smaldon and Zaccaria both indicated an appearance for centralized arraignment.
