BPD Train Derailment October 2024

BOONVILLE- Two large cranes are expected to arrive Friday to help re-rail and/or remove the derailed train near Bailey’s Feed Mill and Luigi’s Pizzeria.

Multiple eyewitness accounts poured in Thursday shortly before noontime, where people reported a derailed train.

Several eyewitness photos confirmed all these claims and the Boonville Village Police Department says there were no traffic disruptions.

As for how the train itself derailed, it still remains a mystery. We hope to receive some sort of statement from Genesee Valley Transportation and/or Mohawk Adirondack & Northern Railroad.

In the meantime, Boonville Village Police says onlookers should not approach the train for any reason.
