NEW BREMEN- A pair of Lewis County residents are both faced with charges for allegedly violating an order of protection.
Melissa S. Gudridge, 42, of Copenhagen, NY and Danny T. Gudridge, 58, of New Bremen, NY were both arrested this week by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
On March 5, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Melissa for allegedly violating an order of protection and charged her with criminal contempt in the second-degree.
Police said the arrest stems from a previous complaint, but during processing, it’s reported that Melissa told deputies that she had violated the same exact order, during a separate time, while she was filing another complaint regarding said protection order.
She was charged with the same, again, and issued with an appearance ticket, returnable to New Bremen Town Court at a later date, police said.
Following Melissa’s complaint, deputies made contact with Danny to inquire more on the alleged incident.
When deputies brought forth that Danny was going to be arrested, it’s alleged that he actively resisted. In addition to criminal contempt in the second-degree, Danny was charged with resisting arrest.
Following an arraignment in West Turin Town Court, Danny was held on $1,500 cash bail, $3,000 insurance company bail bond and $12,000 partially secured appearance bond (w/a 10% deposit).
Furthermore, there are two more releases from the Sheriff’s Office that suggest the same exact charges filed against both Danny and Melissa in the town of New Bremen.
It’s not exactly clarified by investigators if these incidents are related to the said incidents above.
For Melissa, this refers to a complaint from January. Meanwhile, Danny reportedly called in a complaint on himself on Monday for violating the order.
There were no further details provided.
