UPDATE: Investigators release victim names in Rome fatal fire

ROME- An update has surfaced concerning Saturday’s fatal fire.

As previously reported, it happened shortly after 1:00 a.m. at 8434 Dawn Drive. According to Sheriff’s Investigators, the deceased victim has been identified as Margaret Thompson, 75.

Meanwhile, the victim who suffered from burn injuries and remains hospitalized has been identified as Larry Thompson, 79.

In terms of a cause and origin, fire officials are still working to determine that as of this update.

Rome Fire Department was the primary responder, with Lake Delta providing assistance.
