CONSTABLEVILLE- A local man who was arrested over the weekend in the wake of a Lewis County domestic dispute barricaded himself inside of his own home when police came to arrest him, authorities say.
As recently reported, the New York State Police officially charged Simeon L. Kent, 50, of Constableville, NY with one felony count of criminal contempt in the first-degree and a violation of harassment in the second-degree.
In the latest updates, State Police Investigators said Kent violated an order of protection during a reported argument Sunday in the village.
He fled from the scene before police arrival, but when Troopers attempted to locate him, they found Kent barricaded inside of his own home. However, he did surrender without incident.
Following his arraignment, Kent was handed over to the custody of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, without bail, due to previous convictions.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office, the State Police Special Operation Response Team and Crisis Negotiators all provided assistance.
