WILNA- Local authorities have updated with additional details regarding a previous story aired last week, regarding a North Country resident charged in a Jefferson County domestic incident.
Last Thursday, the New York State Police (Watertown) arrested and charged Timothy Neal Keller, 46, of Carthage, NY with one misdemeanor count each of menacing in the second-degree (w/a weapon); criminal obstruction of breathing and criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree.
The incident occurred last Tuesday afternoon in the town of Wilna, where Investigators have determined that Keller got into a verbal altercation and threatened the victim with a knife and grabbed them by the neck.
Keller then reportedly barricaded himself inside his residence and refused to exit when patrols arrived.
After a standoff and discussion with a Crisis Negotiator and Special Operations Response Team, Keller voluntarily exited the residence and was taken into custody.
New York State Police executed a Criminal Search Warrant of the residence, and a Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order was filed under the state’s Red Flag Law.
Keller was processed at SP Watertown and transported to the Jefferson County Public Safety building pending Arraignment at the City of Watertown Court.
