UPDATE: Suspect being cooperative with police in wake of Westernville shooting

WESTERN- State Police investigators have released an update regarding the domestic incident Monday evening in Westernville, NY, where there were reports of shots fired.

As of this publication, there are no suspect or victim names available, but Troopers say a 38-year-old male went to the home of a 43-year-old male, where an altercation occurred.

During the dispute, police say the 38-year-old threatened the 43-year-old and his family. As a result, the 43-year-old fired multiple birdshot rounds from a shotgun, striking the 38-year-old.

The 38-year-old was taken to Wynn Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to authorities, the suspect has been cooperative with investigators, and the firearm involved has been secured by police.
