Vandalism investigation in Jefferson County results in arrest of North Country suspect, State Troopers say

CARTHAGE- A North Country vandalism case has resulted in a pair of charges filed against a local resident.

Benjamin J. Roggie, 39, of Carthage, NY was arrested Wednesday evening by the New York State Police (Carthage) for one felony count of criminal mischief in the third-degree (property damage > $250) and one misdemeanor of criminal tampering in the third-degree.

At press time, Troopers said an investigation was pending; though the charges stem from a vandalism complaint filed on Sunday in the village of Carthage, NY.

Roggie was issued with an appearance ticket.

There were no further details provided.
