
WATERTOWN- Watertown International Airport has re-opened, following a bomb threat over the weekend.
The scare occurred early Sunday, when airport personnel received the threat via a general public email address.
Authorities with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office report the threat was first discovered at around 6:00 a.m.
Airport officials, who spoke with WWNY-TV, say that all procedures were followed and everyone was evacuated from the property.
Although no actual bomb or any other suspicious and/or dangerous materials were discovered, police say the investigation remains ongoing.
The airport was re-opened shortly before 10:00 a.m.
