FOR LEWIS AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES-...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 12 to 20 inches, with storm total accumulations 1 to 2 feet. Local amounts of 2 to 3 feet possible where bands persist the longest in the Watertown and northern Tug Hill areas. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. Near blizzard conditions will be possible at times today. * WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. The heaviest snow will be across much of Jefferson County, northern and western Lewis County, and far northern Oswego County. Very little accumulation is expected across the southern half of Oswego County. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible with deep snow cover on roads. Widespread blowing snow will reduce visibility to near zero in lake effect bands.
FOR NORTHERN ONEIDA COUNTY-......WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 3 inches late this afternoon. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Northern Oneida county. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The highest totals will be along the northern portion of the area, with a sharp gradient to the south.
FOR NORTHERN HERKIMER COUNTY AND THE ADIRONDACKS...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST MONDAY...* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulation of 8 to 15 inches near and north of Route 28 with locally higher amounts 15 to 20 inches possible north of Stillwater Reservoir. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Northern Herkimer County.* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Monday.* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult due to snow covered roadways and low visibility this afternoon into this evening. Snowfall rates in excess one to two inches per hour are likely. Gusty winds will make for blowing and drifting snow. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
