FOR NORTHERN HERKIMER COUNTY AND THE ADIRONDACKS...... ...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...The southern Adirondacks and Glens Falls Saratoga Region of eastern New York and all of southern Vermont. * WHEN...From Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will begin Wednesday afternoon, becoming heavy at times with snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour possible Wednesday evening. The snow may become a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, and sleet Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
