FOR LEWIS AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES......WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM MONDAY TO 7 AM EST SATURDAY......WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 10 AM EST MONDAY.. * WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations around three tenths of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 1 to 2 feet. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph creating blowing and drifting snow along with whiteout conditions at times. * WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 4 PM this afternoon to 10 AM EST Monday. For the Winter Storm Warning, from 4 PM Monday to 7 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Slippery conditions are expected this afternoon and tonight. Some tree damage is likely with scattered power outages due to the ice. Whiteout conditions are expected starting Monday afternoon and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact travel through the week. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow is expected oscillate several times downwind of Lake Ontario this week. Forecast snowfall amounts could be much higher where lake bands persist during this long duration event. The strongest winds will be Monday and Monday night.

FOR  NORTHERN ONEIDA CO......WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.....WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THISFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST MONDAY.. * WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations around one quarter of an inch. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations around a foot possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Madison, Northern Oneida, and Southern Oneida Counties. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 4 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Monday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Monday evening through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

FOR NORTHERN HERKIMER AND THE ADIRONDACKS.......WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 10 AM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations between one tenth and one half of an inch. * WHERE...The western and southwest Adirondacks, central and western Mohawk Valley, Lake George Saratoga Region and southern Vermont. * WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 10 AM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A period of freezing rain briefly mixed with snow and sleet is expected late this afternoon through tonight. Temperatures rising above freezing will allow freezing rain to change to plain rain by late tonight or early Monday morning.
