Additional snow accumulations 3 to 6 inches. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy lake effect snow possible. Potential for 7 inches or more snow accumulation in the most persistent lake snows. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph creating blowing and drifting snow with very poor visibilities. * WHERE...For the advisory, greatest snow accumulations will be found across far southern Jefferson County, southwestern Lewis County and the eastern half of Oswego County. FOR NORTHERN HERKIMER CO AND THE ADIRONDACKS-...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Snow. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches with locally 6 to 8 inches across the southern foothills of the Adirondacks, southern Greens and northern Berkshires. * WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, western Massachusetts, eastern New York, and southern Vermont. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Hazardous to difficult travel expected due to snow covered and slippery roads. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of snow will bring light to moderate accumulations through this afternoon before ending this evening.
