Additional snow accumulations 3 to 6 inches. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy lake effect snow possible. Potential for 7 inches or more snow accumulation in the most persistent lake snows. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph creating blowing and drifting snow with very poor visibilities. * WHERE...For the advisory, greatest snow accumulations will be found across far southern Jefferson County, southwestern Lewis County and the eastern half of Oswego County. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches with locally 6 to 8 inches across the southern foothills of the Adirondacks, southern Greens and northern Berkshires. * WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, western Massachusetts, eastern New York, and southern Vermont. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Hazardous to difficult travel expected due to snow covered and slippery roads. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Periods of snow will bring light to moderate accumulations through this afternoon before ending this evening.
