ROME- City Mayor Jeff Lanigan has an upcoming court date revolving around his alleged tussle with former Mayor, Jim Brown, but sources say there could be surveillance footage of the encounter released to the public.

According to WKTV, their FOIL request for the footage was previously denied by Oneida County over the summer, however; special prosecutor, Jeffery Carpenter, the Herkimer County DA, told the Oneida County attorney that they could release anything in the case they deem appropriate, pursuant to law, leaving the surveillance footage in their hands to review for privacy and potential redactions.

Mayor Lanigan is due back in court this month and if the case is still not resolved, the judge may end up setting a trial date.

In July, Mayor Lanigan pled not guilty to a charge of harassment.
