OLD FORGE- A woman from Monroe County is accused of stealing numerous merchandise from local businesses in the Western Adirondacks, authorities say.

Jessica M. Nichols, 39, of Fairport, NY was arrested and charged by the Town of Webb Police Department with three misdemeanor counts of petit larceny.

According to Chief of Police Ron Johnston, officers investigated theft complaints from two businesses on August 19, which involved the same female suspect.

Two days later on August 21, police managed to identify and locate Nichols in Old Forge, NY. She was taken in for processing, where she reportedly surrendered several stolen items.

She was then let go on appearance tickets, however; in the wake of her release, police discovered one of the stolen items did not belong to either of the complaining establishments.

This led police to discover that she had allegedly stolen from a third business the same day when the other complaints were filed.

Nichols was arrested, again, this past Tuesday and was issued her third misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

All charges are returnable to the Town of Webb Court at a later date.
