UTICA- The woman from Rome, NY, who is accused in an area animal cruelty case, rejected a plea offer in court this week.

Taylor Uvanni appeared in Oneida County Court on Monday, where she denied pleading guilty to a felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals, according to the latest updates from WKTV.

Uvanni is accused of locking a dog inside of a closet and leaving it there to die in a North Jay Street apartment in September of last-year.

Had she accepted the plea deal, Uvanni would have faced a six-month sentence of house arrest and five-years of probation, reports suggest.

It’s reported that Uvanni is scheduled to return to Oneida County Court in late February.
