LOWVILLE- Lewis County Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce support for the capital project in Lowville, thanks to a grant from the Dyson Foundation.

Located in Millbrook, NY, the Dyson Foundation has strong connections with Lewis County, according to a statement from JoAnne Rhubart, Executive Director for the Hospital Foundation.

“This extremely generous grant from the Dyson Foundation provides donors with another matching gift opportunity,” she said.

“Half of the grant has already been awarded to the Foundation. The remaining $125,000 will be matched by donations from the community.”

Their $250,000 grant is earmarked for the capital project at Lewis County General Hospital which includes the new state-of-the-art surgical pavilion which opened in December 2023, private patient rooms and a five-bed critical care unit, according to Rhubart.

Joy Stillman Dyson, daughter of long-time Lewis County General Hospital Physician, Dr. Elwin Stillman, and her husband Chris, love the North Country and were honored that the Dyson Foundation awarded this gift to support the capital project.

The ultimate fundraising goal is $2.4 million. Donations can be mailed to: 7785 North State Street, Lowville, NY 13367.
