Lyons Falls - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, Christine (Chris) Hunt-Garlock. Chris passed away after a brief illness at Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville, NY on March 16th 2025, at the very young age of 88 with her loving family by her side.

Chris was born in Ogdensburg, NY to the late Gerald and Sally Loonan Hunt on June 24th 1936. She grew up in the Watertown area, where she met her soul mate, the love of her life, the late Gerald Garlock Jr. Chris and Jerry where married in Jan. 1953 and spent the next 52 years together, raising two daughters, and moving from Watertown, to Boonville and then finally to their forever home in Lyons Falls, NY.

Chris worked many rewarding jobs over the years to include GTE as a switchboard supervisor in Boonville, Mercer’s Bakery and the Great American grocery store in Lyons Falls, but none made her as happy as being a mom for many years before entering the workforce. Chris enjoyed her accomplishments, especially those that called her grandma. Her family is a true testimony of her role as our matriarch.  She loved her family fiercely, especially if she could beat you in a game of Skipbo!

Surviving Chris is her daughter, Laurie Garlock-Rutan; 4 grandchildren;19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, her father and mother- in- law Gerald Garlock Sr. and Doris Joslin-Garlock, her loving husband Gerald Garlock Jr, a daughter Nancy (jolly) Garlock-Webster, her son- in- law Raymond ( jimmy) Webster, and a grandson James Elliot Loar II.
