LOWVILLE/CARTHAGE- Diane L. Bourgeois Mulligan 71, (affectionately known as “Lady Di”) of Lowville, formerly of Meadowbrook Terrace, passed away on Monday December 9, 2024 at Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, where she has resided since May 2023.
Per Diane’s wishes, she has made an Anatomical Gift of her body to SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY. Diane deeply felt the need to help others through the study of her body. In keeping with her wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral service. She will be buried with her parents in Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden, at a later late.
Diane is survived by her siblings, Mary (Harvey) Ingersoll of Lowville, Patricia (Richard) Hoskin of Lyons Falls, William E. (Lorraine) Stabb Bourgeois of Brantingham/Ocala, FL, Ray Bourgeois of Las Vegas, NV, Richard (Brenda) Nortz Bourgeois of Lyons Falls, Thomas (Darlene) Coe Bourgeois of Remsen, and Lisa (Patrick) Anson of Marcy; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was predeceased by her father, William V. Bourgeois in 2005; her mother, Beverly Bourgeois in 2013; a brother, John Bourgeois in 1981; a sister, Brenda J. Bourgeois in 2023; a niece, Catherine Stefhon-Allen in 2004; and a nephew, Ronald Stefhon Jr. in 2018.
She was born in Constableville, NY on September 8, 1953, the second of ten children born of the late William V. and Beverly Forkell Boureois. She graduated from Adirondack High School in 1972 and furthered her education at Mohawk Valley Community College, receiving a case management certificate. She then worked for Lally Manufacturing in Port Leyden from 1972 to 1986 in the shipping department. In October of 1986, Diane begun working for the Lewis County ARC and the Arc Oneida-Lewis NYSARC, a job she took much pleasure in. She retired in June of 2014 due to medical reasons.
Diane enjoyed reading, her cat Grayson, and spending her time journaling her thoughts and praise for our Savior Jesus Christ.
