Donna D. Dunn

SCIPIO CENTER- Donna D. Dunn, 68, formerly of Boonville, passed away on July 26, 2026, at Oak Hills Rehabilitation Center in Ithaca, after an extended hospitalization at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

She was born on May 31, 1958, at Sunset Nursing and Maternity Home in Constableville, NY, the eldest daughter of Stewart and Shirley Yelton Dunn. Donna graduated from South Lewis Central School with the class of 1976. After graduation, she was employed at Lally Manufacturing, Hotel Parquet, Bakers Greenhouses, and Sunset Nursing Home, where she retired from in 2022.

Donna had a great love for growing plants and feeding her birds. She was also an amazing cook and baker.

Donna is survived by the love of her life, Mark Gallup; one son and his wife, Joshua and Cortney Dunn; two grandchildren, Kaydence and Kody Dunn; her mother, Shirley Dunn; three sisters, Roxanne (Randy) Ballard, Annette (Mophie) Bourgeois, and Crystal (Bruce) Manzer; one aunt, Beverly Wheelock; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Stewart Dunn, in 2021, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Donna’s memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Donna’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the cardiac staff at St. Joseph’s for the excellent care she received.
