Florence M. Hrim
Boonville - Florence M. Hrim, 87, of Dutch Hill Road, a native and lifelong resident of the Town of Leyden, and widow of Daniel P. Hrim Jr., passed away on Thursday, February 20th, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 28, 1937, in Port Leyden, the daughter of Peter L. and Wilma Sweeney, and she received her education at Mohawk Hill rural school in Constableville and Boonville School.
She was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her children and creating a loving home. She had a deep passion for crocheting and often made beautiful afghans. Florence lovingly gave these handmade gifts to veterans and others who had touched her life, sharing her warmth and generosity with those around her.
On October 27, 1956, Florence was united in marriage to Daniel P. Hrim Jr. at the Boonville United Methodist Church. After that, the couple settled on the Dutch Hill Road.
Mrs. Hrim was a member of the Boonville United Methodist Church. Florence M. Hrim, widow of Daniel P. Hrim Jr., is survived by her children: Susan (Deforest J.) Bailey, Clifford (Kim) Hrim of Constableville, Wasyl (Sandy) Hrim, and Margaret Hrim of Boonville. She was predeceased by her beloved grandson, David (Melissa) Bailey, with whom she shared a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Todd Hrim, Danielle (Michael) Cardenas, Angela (Jason) Cianfrano, Brandy Deveines, Daniel, Wasyl Jr., Paul (Liz) Hrim, Willard (Cinda) Bailey Jr., and Emily Winn-Sanderson, along with many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and one predeceased.
Florence leaves behind a dear and cherished friend, Cinda Bush. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Tanney, Jane Gouger, and Sheila Rucki; her sister-in-law, Barbara Sweeney; and her brother, Clifford Oberiter.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, where Pastor Jack Ford, from the Boonville Methodist, will preside. Interment will take place in Boonville Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m.
