Mary E. Lanz

She was born in Utica on May 27, 1938 to James and Ida Clemons Moore. Mary attended Morrisville College where she received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She then did private duty nursing in the Boonville and Lowville areas. Mary married Robert Lanz on June 13, 1959 in Lowville. He died September 4, 2019. Mary held many titles in her life, from a nurse, a devoted wife and mother to her daughters, Amy and Lori as well as her grandchildren, Lexus, Ryan and Holly. For many years she sold real estate in the area as well as assisting her husband, Robert in the operation of the family business N.M. Sargents & Sons, Boonville. Throughout her entire life she was able to make people laugh with her great sense of humor and personality. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many and she will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.

Surviving are her daughters, Lori Lanz and Amy and Jim McCormick; three grandchildren; brother James Moore and a sister Darlene (Ted) Mooney. Mary was predeceased by three sisters, Crystal Moore, Geraline Jones and Maude Emerson, a brother Edward Moore and a sister-in-law Donna Moore.

There will be a graveside service on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Brantingham Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
