Shirley Ann Hake (Bauer) of Elbridge NY born May 9, 1939 in Rome NY left this earthly world on January 5, 2026. Shirley was a West Leyden (NY) High School valedictorian 1957 enjoying band and cheerleading, attended New York State College for Teachers in Albany and employed by Jordan-Elbridge Central School until retirement. She was a 35 yr member/officers of the Morning Star Chapter in the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her love for dogs was unconditional and a constant joy looking forward to her daily visits with the local black cat considered good luck and prosperity in Irish folklore. Her extensive teddy bear collection rivaled no other!

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2022, her son Bret in 2004, and siblings Doug, Joan, and Wayne. She leaves behind sons Brian (Kim) and Bruce (Dawn), 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister Gail Bauer LaQuay, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 1-3 pm Sunday, January 11 at the Bush Funeral Home, 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge. OES Service will be 3 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
