Floyd- Sylvia Anne Munn Edwards, 91, of Streiff Road, a former longtime resident of Powell Road, Stittville and widow of William Edwards, Jr., passed away at her residence, while surrounded by the loving care of her family and Hospice, on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

Affectionately known as Anne, she was born at White’s Maternity Home, in Boonville, on January 22, 1933, a daughter of Otis and Fern Wood Munn, of Talcottville.  She grew up on the Munn homestead farm, above Talcottville and received her education at Boonville Central School, graduating with the Class of 1950.  Thereafter Anne attended and graduated in 1951, from Center City Business Institute (CCBI), Syracuse, with a degree in Bookkeeping and Secretarial skills.  She was employed at Gleasman’s Parkside Supply in Boonville, until 1955.

On June 5, 1954, at the Boonville Methodist Church, Anne was united in marriage with William Edwards, Jr. from Stittville.  They purchased a farm in the Stittville area which they operated as a very successful business, until retiring in 1991, when they sold the farm to their son, Bruce.

Anne is survived by two sons, Bruce and his significant other, Deb Seymour, Floyd, Richard and his wife, Lorraine Reith, Cohoes, NY.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia, on July 22, 1999.  Also surviving are four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one brother and sister in law, George and Lou Munn of Arizona and “Special” Friend, Matthew Ingersoll, of Floyd, whom Anne considered to be her third son.   

In addition to her husband, William, who passed away on January 2, 2012, Anne was also predeceased by two brothers, Chester Munn and Otis Munn, Jr. and by her parents, Otis and Fern Munn.

In 1975, Anne joined the Holland Patent Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, and became very active at Chapter, State, division and National levels.  She was also active in Mohawk Valley Chapter Colonial Dames XVII Century and Old New York Frontier Chapter Daughters of American Colonist. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Townsend Cemetery, Stittville.  There are no calling hours.  Following her services at Townsend Cemetery, all are invited to attend a Celebration of Anne’s life, at the Stittville Fire Hall, Main St. Stittville village.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413.  Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, NY 13309.
