2023 Tug Hill Sages nomination process now open, Commission says

TUG HILL- 2023 marks the twelfth-year for the Tug Hill Commission and its nomination process for Sages.

Becoming a Tug Hill Sage is a distinction bestowed upon local individuals with vast knowledge of the Tug Hill region’s heritage and environment and that have shown a lifelong involvement in the region.

Individuals chosen as Sages have distinguished themselves by their strong historical knowledge of the region and by their actions that have directly contributed to improving quality of life on the Hill. 

You may remember our own George Capron was nominated and became a Tug Hill Sage. To date, 36 individuals have been recognized as embodying the meaning of a “Tug Hill Sage,” the commission said.  

The most recent Tug Hill Sage nomination process occurred in 2015 and was first organized in 1973. For detailed information on qualifying criteria and instructions on submitting a nomination, visit Tug Hill Commission's website.
