The national average price for a gallon of gas in the U.S. was $3.44 Tuesday morning, according to the AAA.

That’s seven-cents cheaper than the $3.51 average last-week and significantly less than when it was $3.62 a month ago now. Last year at this time, the national average price was just shy of $3.60.

“This drop in pump prices appears to have some sticking power for now,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson.

“More states should see their averages dip below $3 a gallon in the coming weeks.”

In New York, drivers are paying an average of $3.61 at the pumps as of this report Tuesday, the AAA says. That’s almost ten-cents cheaper than last month’s average of $3.72.

A year ago now, New Yorkers were paying an average of nearly $3.70.

Between Boonville and Lowville, NY, drivers are paying between the upper $3.50 range and lower $3.70 range, according to GasBuddy as of this publication.

Some cheaper prices can be found in the Syracuse and Watertown, NY regions, but most establishments there are offering similar price ranges.

The same can be said for the cities of Rome and Utica, NY in the Mohawk Valley.
