
The national average price for a gallon of gas here in the U.S. was $3.53 as of Tuesday morning, according to the AAA.
A year ago now, national pump prices were averaging $3.43. For New York State, drivers are paying an average of $3.43 per-gallon. That is ten-cents below the latest national average price.
“Gas prices are a lot like seasonal temperatures. They start to rise with the arrival of spring, said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson.
“And the national average for gas is now higher than a year ago, which we have not seen since late December.”

A month ago now, New Yorkers were paying an average of $3.30 at the pumps.
In Lowville, NY, local fuel prices are ranging as low as $3.40 and $3.53 in Boonville, NY, according to GasBuddy.
Meanwhile in Watertown, NY, GasBuddy is reporting pump prices as low as $3.31, with several others now ranging as high as $3.59.
At the same time, similar trends have been noted in Syracuse, NY, with some fuel prices ranging as low as $3.29 and upwards of $3.69.
Finally in the Mohawk Valley Region, GasBuddy is reporting pump prices as low as $3.38 in Rome, NY and $3.26 in Utica, NY.
