ATV accident sends victim to SUNY Upstate Medical Center, deputies say

PINCKNEY- Authorities have released another report regarding an ATV accident recently in Lewis County.

This one happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. last Friday on the Whitesville Road, town of Pinckney.

Investigation via the Sheriff’s Office suggests that Todd J. Trapper, 32, of Erie County, NY and Anthony J. Custodi, 26, of Niagara County, NY were riding on a 2019 CANAM Maverick.

Trapper was the reported operator. They were heading in a northerly direction when Trapper collided with a tree after running off from the roadway.

Police determined that he had lost control of the machine. Unsafe speeds were a factor, deputies said at press time.

Custodi subsequently suffered abdominal area injuries from the crash. He received evaluation on-scene before being sent to SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY.

There were no injuries reported by police regarding Trapper.

No additional details were provided.
