PORT LEYDEN & LYONS FALLS- Another update has surfaced regarding the investigations that have been going on in the villages of Port Leyden and Lyons Falls, NY.
Last week, developments broke that Jeremy Rogers, former DPW Superintendent for Port Leyden, was charged with ten misdemeanor counts of falsifying business records.
Late Wednesday afternoon, WWNY-TV reported that Jeremy’s brother, Shane Rogers, who also was the Superintendent for Lyons Falls DPW, is now charged with two misdemeanor counts of the same.
This update blossoms from a New York State DEC investigation. Specifically, authorities were looking into both villages to determine if actual readings were being recorded regarding their sewage.
The investigation resulted in resignations from both Jeremy and Shane.
In response to a comment request, Shane told reporters that he has been advised not to speak to the press, until he has gone over things with legal counsel.
Furthermore, he apparently is making a run for Lyonsdale Town Highway Superintendent, according to Lewis County Board of Elections.
Reporters made note that they have yet to hear back from Jeremy as of Wednesday's report, in terms of a comment request.
Both men are due in local court sometime next week.
