BOONVILLE- Local police authorities are investigating a roof collapse that occurred Monday, just outside the village.

It was shortly before 3:00 p.m. when emergency responders were dispatched to a roof collapse on State Route 12-D.

Oneida County 9-1-1 Dispatch originally had posted an exact address, but it since has been removed.

From what we could tell, the incident occurred near the vicinity of the North Country Manor.

Several agencies responded and according to Boonville’s Fire Chief, Dave Pritchard Jr., there were two people who suffered injuries in the collapse.

Chief Pritchard Jr. says there was a construction crew putting up rafters on the property when it all of a sudden collapsed. Two people were underneath when it occurred and the extent of their injuries are unknown as of this report.

Chief Pritchard says they were both taken to Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY.

Officials say the cause is currently under investigation.

Boonville Police Department, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police all assisted.
