Two charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property in town of Russia

RUSSIA- Two suspects are faced with felony accusations in the wake of a vehicle larceny investigation in Herkimer County, authorities say.

Brian Joseph Smaldon, 20, of Poland, NY and Tia Zaccaria, 34, of West Winfield, NY were both arrested and charged Sunday afternoon by the New York State Police (Herkimer) with one felony count each of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth-degree.

According to Troopers, these charges were filed in the wake of a larceny complaint filed on November 17 in the town of Russia.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending. Meanwhile, both Smaldon and Zaccaria were issued with appearance tickets.

There were no further details provided.
