Barneveld and several fire departments respond to apartment structure fire; NYS Fire officials investigating

ONEIDA COUNTY- Several fire departments were on the scene of an apartment fire over the weekend in Barneveld, NY.

Oneida County 9-1-1 dispatch said it happened shortly before 1:00 a.m. Saturday at 104 Mappa Avenue.

Barneveld was the primary fire department on scene, with assistance thanks to Floyd, Holland Patent, Remsen and Stittville.

Firefighters managed to knock the flames down within 30-minutes. Overhaul was conducted for another hour.

At press time, Barneveld Fire Chief Kevin Kalk said State Fire Investigators are working to determine a cause.

Members from the State Police, Sheriff’s Office, North Star Ambulance, National Grid and Trenton Codes Department all assisted.

No injuries were reported.
