ALBANY, NY- The tenth budget extender has been passed for the 2026 FY New York State budget, and despite the Governor’s office announcing an agreement earlier in the week, lawmakers are now saying that was not the case.
“The people of this state deserve transparency and accountability, not political spin and negotiations,” said Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush.
The budget is due annually by April 1 in New York and is now over a month late. “The Governor must stop misleading New Yorkers and deliver a responsible, on-time budget that reflects the priorities of the people, not the politics of the moment,” the Assemblyman added.
When officially passed, state officials expect the budget to ring-in towards a quarter of a trillion dollars.
We will have more from the office of New York State Senator Joe Griffo on Monday, May 5, 2025.
