Boonville Fire department reports two exposures during blaze that destroyed garage

ONEIDA COUNTY- Two exposures were reported during a blaze that ended up destroying a garage over the weekend outside the village of Boonville, NY.

It was some time shortly after 1:30 a.m. Saturday when Boonville Fire Department responded to a fire call on the Wingert Road in the Town of Boonville.

Mutual aid was provided thanks to Constableville, Remsen and Woodgate Fire Departments. 

Boonville Municipal assisted by shutting down the power. Meanwhile, the Town of Boonville assisted with a plow and sander. Members from the New York State Police assisted as well.

The Garage and its contents were destroyed, while a nearby residence sustained damage to the exterior, the Boonville Fire Department said.

In addition, the next door property received damage to the exterior of the house and the garage had fire extend into it, but crews were able to quickly get it under control, with minor damage as a result.
