NYS DOT warns of roadwork, potential delays for those traveling the Utica and Rome area

ONEIDA COUNTY- A few ongoing road projects during the week of December 15 may result in some traffic delays for those traveling into the Mohawk Valley area.

For those who frequent Route 12 into Utica, NY, there will be lane closures in both directions on Wednesday (December 17) between Route 5S and the Thruway (I-90) for bridge inspection over the railroad.

Elsewhere in Utica, NY on Tuesday, December 16, motorists will encounter a full ramp closure to Burrstone Road (Routes 5, 8 & 12 southbound ramp) for bridge inspection over the railroad. There will be a signed detour from French Road.

In New Hartford, NY, drivers are warned of a northbound ramp closure (Routes 5, 8 & 12) to Route 840 west for a box beam guiderail installation.

Finally, for folks heading through Rome, beware that there will be lane closures in both directions on State Route 26 over Martin Street on Thursday, December 18, between State Route 365 and Luquer Street to allow for bridge inspection.
