ALBANY, NY- Get ready to get wet. The National Weather Service is warning a possibility for some localized flooding as we approach a new month of July.

Hazardous weather outlooks for the North Country and Central New York areas suggest potential for heavy rain and isolated flooding starting this weekend.

According to the office of Governor Kathy Hochul, nearly every region statewide is in the crosshairs of this wet weather pattern.

“State personnel are constantly monitoring forecasts and I encourage all New Yorkers to take responsible precautions: be aware of local forecasts, sign up for emergency alerts, monitor any road closures and prepare a bag of supplies in the unlikely event that a rapid evacuation is needed," she said.

Slow moving thunderstorms and heavy rainfall is expected to move in Friday night and continue periodically through early next week, forecasters say.
