WEBB- Residents and business owners in the Old Forge and Town of Webb are being asked to register their security surveillance systems.

The aim of this campaign is for the Town of Webb Police to have as much surveillance access as possible to help solve criminal activity.

“As our officers respond to reports of criminal activity in our community, they may be able to use the information or footage captured on these security cameras to assist in the apprehension and prosecution of the criminals involved,” the department said in a released statement.

Information provided to the Town of Webb Police Department regarding your camera system will be kept for official use only and at no time will any registered camera system be accessed remotely, or without the owner’s knowledge, by any member of the Police Department, officials clarified.

Any and all cameras will be gratefully accepted in this registry; however, cameras that would be of most use to the police department include:

1) Any camera view that contains any portion of vehicle and/or foot traffic throughout the entirety of State Route 28 within the Town.
2) Any camera with footage that is of adequate resolution to capture the license plates of passing vehicles on any roadway within the Town.
3) Any camera views that cover any other high vehicle and/or foot traffic areas within the Town.
