HERKIMER & ONEIDA COUNTIES- A pair stands accused of felony charges from complaints of burglary activity locally last winter, authorities say.

Thomas A. Sperduto, 46, of Utica, NY and Deorah M. Bernhardt, 67, of Remsen, NY were both arrested Wednesday evening by the New York State Police (Herkimer). They are formally charged with one felony count each of burglary in the third-degree (illegal entry w/intent).

These charges stem from burglary complaints filed in late February in the town of Russia.

In addition, Sperduto is also faced with a felony charge from February 24 in the town of Forestport. State Police in Remsen say he is officially charged with criminally possessing stolen property in the fourth-degree, stemming from a reported vehicle larceny.

At press time, authorities said an investigation was pending for both cases.

An arrest status was not listed for Bernhardt, while bail/bond was listed for Sperduto, with no amount specified.
