WASHINGTON, D.C.- Canada has made an announcement that some have likely longed to hear.

After September 30, Canadian officials have confirmed that there are no further plans to extend COVID vaccine mandates and mandatory use of ‘ArriveCAN.’ Beginning on October 1, travelers arriving in Canada are:

No longer required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter Canada or meet COVID-19 testing, quarantine, or isolation requirements,

No longer required to submit public health information through the ArriveCAN app, and

No longer required to wear a mask in terminals, ports, and on aircraft.

“This is a critical step forward to fully restoring Northern Border travel for our communities and small businesses that rely on this important partnership,” said North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21).

Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded in spring of 2020, there has been all sorts of rules and regulations for travelers at the northern border.

The move proves as another promising sign of progressing further out of the emergency phase of the pandemic.

Stefanik has been a continuous critic of COVID regulations enacted by Canada for when it comes to travelers at the border.
