Carthage Man Accused of Numerous Charges following Fatality that Occurred in May

TOWN OF LOWVILLE-A 54 year old Carthage man was arrested Friday morning in Lowville following an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred in the Town of Champion on the evening of May 4^th of this year. New York State Police from the Lowville Barracks charged Peter S. Schroy with numerous charges including one count each of Vehicular Assault in the 1^st degree with a Blood Alcohol Content of .18 percent or more, Assault-Recklessly causing serious Injury with a Weapon, and Vehicular Manslaughter in the 2^nd degree- vehicle or Vessel; all Class D felonies: One count each of Aggravated Vehicular Assault, Vehicular Manslaughter in the 1^st Degree with a blood alcohol content of .18 or more, and Manslaughter-Recklessly Causing Death; all Class C felonies: One count of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide with a Blood Alcohol Count of .18 percent of more, a Class B felony: One Count of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated Per Se with one prior, a Class E felony: One Count each of Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 of 1 percent. D.W.I.-First Offense; and Reckless Driving; all Class U misdemeanors. Schroy’s arrest status was listed as “Bail Bond” and no further details were released.
