Carthage Man Accused of Numerous Charges following Fatality that Occurred in May

TOWN OF LOWVILLE-A 54 year old Carthage man was arrested Friday morning in Lowville following an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred in the Town of Champion on the evening of May 4th of this year. New York State Police from the Lowville Barracks charged Peter S. Schroy with numerous charges including one count each of Vehicular Assault in the 1st degree with a Blood Alcohol Content of .18 percent or more, Assault-Recklessly causing serious Injury with a Weapon, and Vehicular Manslaughter in the 2nd degree- vehicle or Vessel; all Class D felonies: One count each of Aggravated Vehicular Assault, Vehicular Manslaughter in the 1st Degree with a blood alcohol content of .18 or more, and Manslaughter-Recklessly Causing Death; all Class C felonies: One count of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide with a Blood Alcohol Count of .18 percent of more, a Class B felony: One Count of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated Per Se with one prior, a Class E felony: One Count each of Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08 of 1 percent. D.W.I.-First Offense; and Reckless Driving; all Class U misdemeanors. Schroy’s arrest status was listed as “Bail Bond” and no further details were released.
