GREIG- A local woman was allegedly under the influence of meth after wrecking a vehicle this summer in Lewis County, while having two children aboard.

The incident happened on July 18 shortly after 5:30 a.m. on the Partridgeville Road, town of Greig.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, responding Deputies witnessed a 2024 Dodge Durango overturned off the western shoulder of the roadway. Megan M. Miller, 28, of Glenfield, NY was identified as the driver.

Police also noted two children under the age of 16 seated in the vehicle, along with another passenger nearby.

All victims were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. However, it is reported by police investigators that Miller displayed signs of impairment on-scene.

Following bloodwork at Lewis County General Hospital, the results showed that Miller was under the influence of amphetamine and methamphetamine at the time of the crash, police said.

She was subsequently arrested on Thursday and formally charged with felony aggravated DWI (w/children in the car); misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment in the second-degree, endangering the welfare of a child and criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

Miller was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third-degree, reckless driving, failing to keep right and speeds not reasonable or prudent.

Miller was arraigned and released on her own recognizance, with all charges returnable to Greig Town Court at a later date.

Members of the New York State Police, 3-G Fire Department, Lewis County Search & Rescue, Turin and Lyons Falls Ambulance all assisted.
