CROGHAN- A local man is faced with accusations stemming from a child abuse complaint in Lewis County, authorities say.

Daniel J. Farney, 37, of Croghan, NY was arrested Monday by the Sheriff’s Office. He is officially charged with one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child and one violation of harassment in the second-degree.

According to police investigation, it’s alleged that Farney struck a 9-year-old boy on the foot with a pot.
