DISPATCHERS: Serious accident under investigation in Southern Lewis County

ORIGINAL STORY: Emergency personnel have confirmed that a serious accident occurred late in the day Wednesday in the Southern end of Lewis County.

We have yet to hear from the State Police or Sheriff’s Investigators as of this publication, but we do have information from Lewis County dispatchers to suggest the accident involved a motorcycle and another vehicle.

The dispatch center said the wreck happened on State Route 12 in Lyons Falls, NY, near Stewart’s Shops.

Accounts from various bystanders suggested that traffic was re-routed for a time while emergency responders were on scene.

Details are still developing and we anticipate further updates from investigators. We will share anything new that surfaces.
