Domestic incident in Croghan results in arrest of North Country resident

CROGHAN- A domestic incident over the weekend in Lewis County has resulted in a pair of charges filed against a local resident.

Shawn Allen Petrie, 51, of Carthage, NY was arrested Sunday morning by the New York State Police (Carthage) for one misdemeanor count each of assault in the third-degree (w/intent to cause physical injury) and criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree.

Troopers said these charges were filed in the wake of a reported domestic incident Sunday morning in the town of Croghan.

At press time, authorities said that Petrie’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.

There were no further details provided.
